Coaching is ultimately about helping people be the best they can be. It's about making shifts, creating lasting changes in a natural and respectful way, that benefit the client, enabling them to live their lives the way they really want to.

These changes happen over a series of sessions. During this time I ‘meet' with my client, generally over the telephone with calls of typically 40 minutes in length. The client determines the agenda for the weekly meeting and the session can be used in a variety of ways. It could be used to evaluate choices, set a direction, sort through a challenge, make a commitment or work out how a current habit is working for them – or not, as the case may be!

It's all about moving forward – from where you now to where you want to be. It's about being focused on what needs to happen in order to reach that goal – although sometimes it can be about working out what that goal actually is!

As a coach my role is to help my clients realise and utilise their strengths, to overcome any barriers or limitations(both real and imagined!) in order to achieve their personal best – to be who they want and to get what they want.

Together we're responsible for creating and designing an alliance.My role is not only to listen, to question and to support, but also at times to coaching3challenge, to be that ‘devil advocate' and bring another perspective to the table.

My philosophy is that we all have a right to be the best we can be. Coaching is a mechanism by which we can get the support and insight necessary to reach that goal, to gain the clarity and understanding we need to create those permanent changes we're looking for.
